After strong growth on Meta Quest, Campfire targets Apple Vision Pro next
The 3D collaboration platform Campfire has grown significantly on Meta Quest and will get Vision Pro support this fall.
Campfire was released for Meta Quest in late 2023, and the customer base has grown more than fifty times since then. The startup attributes the growth to an improvement in usability over previous devices.
Campfire is now announcing a native Vision Pro version of the app to be released this fall.
“Spatial collaboration is a disruptive capability that has been promised and not delivered for too long. Meta’s Quest 3 has defined an inflection point for headset adoption in the enterprise, and customers are excited about what’s possible with Apple Vision Pro.” said Jay Wright, CEO of Campfire, in a prepared statement.
Campfire is also available for iPad, PC, and Mac. The platform requires a subscription and offers free and paid plans for companies of all sizes.
What is Campfire?
Campfire is a collaboration platform that allows CAD models to be loaded into mixed reality and viewed together. The startup describes Campfire as follows
"Instead of traveling and shipping equipment for meetings, distributed teams can collaborate using digital 3D models of physical products, equipment, and environments as if sitting around them. Campfire supports more than 40 types of CAD/3D models and allows users to collaborate from desktops, tablets, and a new generation of spatial computing devices."
Campfire's customers include Raytheon, Collins Aerospace, KTM, PepsiCo, Harvard University and Arup.Industries.
