Meta Quest 3S: Storage options and accessories leaked
We already know a lot about Meta Quest 3S. Now we have the first hints about the accessories that Meta will offer.
VR enthusiast Brad Lynch has shared code strings on X that hint at the storage options for the Quest 3S, its accessories, as new accessories for Quest 3.
Meta Quest 3S may come with two storage options: one with 128 GB and one with 256 GB. Meta Quest 3 is available with 128 GB and 512 GB storage.
The following accessories are listed for Meta Quest 3S:
- Quest 3S: Standard Facial Interface
- Quest 3S: Standard Head Strap
- Quest 3S: Facial Interface Silicone
- Quest 3S: Open Facial Interface Cushion
- Quest 3S: Zenni VR Anti-Fog (prescription lenses)
- Quest 3S: Zenni VR Oil-Resistant (prescription lenses)
With the exception of the "Open Facial Interface Cushion", all accessories are already available for Quest 3.
The following accessories are mentioned for Meta Quest 3:
- Quest 3: Zenni VR Anti-Fog (prescription lenses)
- Quest 3: Zenni VR Oil-Resistant (prescription lenses)
- Quest 3: Open Periphery Facial Interface
The "Open Periphery Facial Interface" is new. This could mean that Meta will offer an option without a light shield, leaving the sides open for better mixed reality immersion and possibly a larger field of view. Quest Pro also has an open periphery.
Also mentioned in the code string are the following accessories:
- Quest Compact Charging Dock
- Quest Compact Carrying Case
- Quest Carrying Case
- Logitech Mixed Reality Stylus
The Carrying Case could be the existing carrying case for Quest 3. The Logitech Mixed Reality Stylus has already been announced.
The compact charging dock and carrying case are new, so Meta may launch a smaller and cheaper charging dock and carrying case.

What is Meta Quest 3S?
The Meta Quest 3S will be a cheaper version of the Quest 3 and will replace the sold-out Quest 2.
The headset will reportedly have the more powerful chipset of the Quest 3, color pass-through, the same ringless controllers and feature parity in the software, but will use the lower resolution display and Fresnel lenses of the Quest 2. The price is expected to be around $300. The Quest 3 costs $500.
The headset is expected to be unveiled at Meta Connect 2024 on September 25th.
