Quest 3 optimization for Ghosts of Tabor: Update spices up the VR hit with new weapons & more
The latest update for the VR shooter Ghosts of Tabor includes three new weapons, stylish cosmetics, a Western DLC and more.
Combat Waffle Studios has released version 0.8.0 of its VR extraction shooter Ghosts of Tabor. Among other things, the update improves performance on Meta Quest 2 and 3. Both headsets now run at 90 frames per second instead of the previous 72 FPS.
The main features of the new update include:
- Visual improvements for Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 2
- New weapons: Raging Hunter, Colt 1883 and Marlin 1894
- Eastwood DLC pack with various cosmetic items
- Golden Luty weapon as a wipe reward
- In-game squad chat
- Hunter is replaced by Tikka t3
- Improved lighting on the weapon walls in the bunker

The paid Eastwood DLC also gives you access to a cowboy hat, a revolver, and other stylish western guns. The following trailer tells you more.
Successful VR tactical shooter soon to launch on PSVR 2
Ghosts of Tabor is one of the most successful VR titles of the past year. According to Combat Waffle Studios, the game already has more than 100,000 active players and has generated over $10 million in revenue.
The extraction shooter launched in March 2023 in Early Access on Steam and in the App Lab for Meta Quest. In February 2024, it made the leap to the official Quest Store.
In May of this year, Ghosts of Tabor was also released for Pico 4. A version of Ghosts of Tabor for Playstation VR 2 is set to follow shortly. Founded in 2022 by US war veterans, the studio is constantly working on improvements and is planning further extensive updates for 2024. Recent updates include the Collectors Awakening Update, which added new areas, weapons and a final boss to the game.
