Japan launch as early as May?
A reference to Apple Vision Pro accessories could point to a possible launch of the headset in Japan in early May. Japanese website Macotakara has spotted a mention of Apple Vision Pro accessories on local online sales platform Line Shopping.
This platform claims to be an official Apple retailer and is currently running a promotion that excludes Apple Vision Pro accessories. The promotion runs until May 6, 2024, and according to Apple Insider it is possible that Apple has already announced a pre-order week for the headset via press release.
Apple to train employees in France
According to rumors, Apple will start training sales staff in France this summer on how to use a "new product". This could be the VR/AR headset, as the Vision Pro is the only Apple product not yet released in France.
The announced training is expected to last two weeks. In the United States, Apple started the sales training in mid-January, and the Vision Pro was launched in February.
Apple Vision Pro: Announcement for China
As reported by Reuters, Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed the launch of the Vision Pro in China this year. This makes China the first publicly confirmed country outside the USA for the launch of the Vision Pro. Cook was a guest at the China Development Forum in Beijing and answered questions from the media on March 24, 2024.
New languages for the virtual keyboard
According to MacRumors, Apple is currently preparing the Vision Pro for launch in new countries and is adding twelve new languages to the virtual keyboard. The magazine, which specializes in rumors about the iPhone company, claims to have discovered a corresponding extension in the keyboard code. So far, only US English is supported with the corresponding emoticons.
The new languages could indicate up to nine new markets for which Apple Vision Pro is being prepared. According to MacRumors, the keyboard will soon support the following languages and language variants Cantonese (Traditional), Chinese (Simplified), English (Australia), English (Canada), English (Japan), English (Singapore), English (UK), French (Canada), French (France), German (Germany), Japanese, and Korean.
Briefing Experience Specialists wanted
Apple has also posted job openings in Australia, China, and Japan. The company is looking for "Briefing Experience Specialists" for sales to present the features of Vision Pro to potential customers. Similar jobs have already been posted in the UK.
Apple Vision Pro: Only available in the US so far
The Apple Vision Pro was launched in the U.S. in early February for a whopping $3,500 for the smallest memory version. It is estimated that between 200,000 and 250,000 units were sold at launch. If you live outside the USA, you still have to travel and import the VR/AR headset yourself.
However, Apple announced at the launch of the Vision Pro that the device would be available in other countries later this year, without giving exact dates. According to rumors, the Vision Pro could be available in other countries before the Worldwide Developers Conference in June 2024, while Europe might not be served until the end of 2024 or later. The Apple Vision Pro boasts a high resolution of 4K per eye and the power of Apple's M2 chip.
