Eight VR games are nominated for the prestigious D.I.C.E. Awards this year.

The D.I.C.E. Awards have been presented since 1998 and are considered the "video game Oscars" industry-wide. D.I.C.E. stands for Design Innovate Communicate Entertain. The awards ceremony is organized and carried out by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS).

The AIAS puts together a panel of over 100 representatives from the video game industry who are responsible for the nominations. The AIAS, which consists of approximately 22,000 members, votes on the winners, who are announced each year during the D.I.C.E Summit in Las Vegas.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the awards ceremony. The show, once again hosted by Jessica Chobot and Greg Miller, will take place on February 24, 2022, and will be streamed live over the Internet by IGN.
