VR sci-fi shooter Astro Hunters hits Steam with a packed roadmap
The PvPvE extraction shooter Astro Hunters VR is now available on Steam, and the developers have already published a roadmap with planned updates.
Indie studio Wenkly has released the multiplayer shooter Astro Hunters VR for SteamVR. A Meta Quest version will also be released soon, probably before the end of this quarter. Wenkly Studio is offering a 10% discount on Steam for the release. The studio is asking for honest feedback in the form of reviews and comments. Questions can be sent directly to the developers via Discord.
Wenkly also published a first roadmap for Astro Hunters VR. A cross-play mode with Meta Quest, improvements based on community feedback and new weapon attachments will be added in September and October.
New missions and powerful bosses are planned for 2024 and 2025, which will drop epic weapons, augmentations and other items as rewards. Later, a second and third planet, improved enemy AI, and a botanical garden will follow. Other ideas include an armor system, improvements to the inventory system, and the implementation of fan ideas.
A VR extraction shooter in space
In Astro Hunters VR you take on dangerous missions as a mercenary on an alien planet for your mother ship. You have to collect valuable resources and survive against other players and AI opponents. The materials you collect, such as gases, liquids, and metals, can be processed into new equipment at workbenches.
These include weapons such as pistols, rifles, rocket launchers, machine guns, shotguns, and sniper rifles, which can be equipped with elemental modifications such as fire, plasma, electricity, and acid. You can team up with other players or hunt each other down for valuable equipment.
Wenkly Studio is an independent development studio based in Poland that specializes in VR games. Astro Hunters VR is the studio's second major VR project after Survival Nation.
