Underworld Overseer brings dungeon keeping to Quest & PC-VR this fall
Underworld Overseer aims to bring the gameplay of Dungeon Keeper to VR with all the advantages of the platform.
You take on the role of the eponymous Overseer who, with the help of an army of minions, must design a dungeon and build deadly traps to protect it from intruders. You can also cast powerful spells to defend your dungeon. These include fireballs, chain lightning, and skeleton raising.
Your demonic minions can build tunnels and chambers for you, but they need to be kept happy. The happier your minions are, the better your dungeon will run.
Underworld Overseer was designed from the ground up for virtual reality. Unlike the original, you can interact with the world and its creatures using your hands. Similar titles like the city builder Townsmen VR show how well this can work in VR.
The VR game features 18 handcrafted levels, each taking 20–25 minutes to complete. Once all levels have been mastered, a higher level of difficulty is unlocked. Visually, the title uses cel-shading graphics.
Underworld Overseer will be released on October 31st, 2024 for Meta Quest and Steam. You can wishlist the game on both platforms.
A studio with genre experience
Underworld Overseer is being developed by Myron Games, the studio behind the VR god simulation Deisim, which made the leap from the App Lab to the Quest Store in 2022 and now boasts an impressive 1,500 reviews.
