Guardian of Realms will soon bring mixed reality swordplay to your living room
The VR studio behind Swordsman specialized in physics-based combat and is now bringing it to mixed reality.
Sinn Studio announced that Guardian of Realms will be released as an Early Access title on the Quest Store at the end of August.
Guardian of Realms is not intended to provide a realistic combat experience but more so a power fantasy, and thanks to mixed reality, you're less likely to destroy your furniture or hurt yourself.
The gameplay is as follows: Waves of warriors and creatures from other dimensions pour out of portals and must be sent back by force.

The game is still in the early stages of development. At launch there will be a sandbox mode with customizable combat parameters and a survival mode in which you must protect a crystal. Mods will also be supported.
The game is currently in beta testing. Access can be requested via the game's Discord server.
The studio has another project in the works
Sinn Studio found success with the physics-based VR combat game Swordsman and now employs 30 full-time staff. It makes sense to extend the winning formula to mixed reality.
In May, the studio announced that it had raised $2.5 million in funding to develop a PVP VR combat game. This is not Guardian of Realms, but another project that will be free-to-play.
The upcoming title will be based on the company's own Combat Engine and uses a neural network "specially designed to discern and learn from the intricate subtleties of human motion during combat."
