A German VR success story
Founded in 2016, the studio Realities.io is a pioneer in VR photogrammetry. Using the PC VR app Realities, it has created stunning digital duplicates of real-world locations, including parts of the Cologne Cathedral and the Death Valley.
When the COVID pandemic prevented travel, the team had to reinvent itself. The idea for Puzzling Places was born when a bug broke a photogrammetry environment into its component parts: what would it be like to assemble 3D fragments of real-world landmarks in VR?
Puzzling Places became a huge VR hit with over 400,000 players and 2,500 reviews on Meta Quest. Since its release, many new features and new puzzles have been added as DLC.
