The Premier League announces first official VR game
Premier League Player is the first official VR game of England's premier football league and is coming exclusively to the Meta Quest platform this year.
The Premier League and Rezzil, a provider of cognitive sports training in VR, have announced their first VR game: Premier League Player will be released exclusively for Meta Quest later this year. An exact release date and price have not yet been set.
The VR game puts fans right in the middle of the action, allowing them to relive and replay iconic moments from the 2023/24 season in the original stadiums. Thanks to official licenses, all 20 Premier League teams are represented with authentic kits and realistic stadiums.
A core element of Premier League Player is the "Moments" mode. Using Rezzil's proprietary technology, key moments from the current season are captured and replayed in great detail. Fans can play the passes, score the goals and experience the intensity of each moment as if they were there live on the pitch.
Unfortunately, the first teaser trailer does not show any gameplay, but Rezzil promises more information in the coming weeks and months.
Rezzil: Professional VR sports training
Rezzil develops football training simulations designed to improve athletes' decision-making, speed, and reaction times. Many top athletes, clubs, and sports organizations worldwide use Rezzil's VR technology.
For Meta Quest, Rezzil offers the VR app Rezzil Player, which provides training sessions for soccer, basketball, boxing or American football, allowing players to work on their reactions, technique, footwork or dealing with pressure situations on the pitch.
The collaboration between Rezzil and the Premiere League was announced in April. It will run for four years.
