Amazon and the social media platform TikTok are officially cooperating. The popular video platform from the Chinese tech company Tencent is now also available in Germany on Echo devices with a screen. In addition, users get a new function for managing Alexa shopping lists.

TikTok videos on Echo Show - this is how it works

Alexa users are now able to stream videos from the social media platform TikTok on Echo smart displays. The voice command "Alexa, open TikTok" is all that is needed to start the platform. Alexa then accesses TikTok via the Amazon Silk browser and starts random playback of popular clips.

Logging in with your account is possible, but not a prerequisite for playback. You only need to log in if you want to like, share, or comment on videos, follow channels, or use other TikTok features.

The login function appears on the screen as soon as you tap one of the icons on the right edge of the screen. If you don't have a TikTok account yet, tap the person icon at the bottom right and follow the instructions to register.

If you want to add new products to the shopping list, say, for example, "Alexa, add apples to the shopping list." Once you've listed the necessary purchases, prepare to send them using the Alexa voice command "Alexa, send my shopping list" and then tell Alexa the contact you want.

Where can I find my Alexa shopping list?

Once the list has been sent, recipients receive a notification on their Echo device or via the Alexa app on their smartphone. You can find the completed list in either the Alexa app or the Amazon Shopping app for iOS and Android. In the Alexa app, tap "More" at the bottom of the screen, then tap "Lists and Notes."

In the Amazon app, it's a little more cumbersome. Sign in with your Amazon account and tap the icon with the three dashes at the bottom of the screen. Then go to "Lists". On the next screen, at the very top, you'll see the small lettering "Show lists". Tap on it, scroll all the way down, and open the Alexa shopping list.
