Mine Games is a minesweeper party game for Quest 3's mixed reality
Mine Games is Minesweeper for mixed reality, featuring an interesting concept. You can try it for free.
Mine Games is a mixed reality party game that requires a single Quest headset.
The premise of the game is simple: your goal is to get from one checkpoint to the next as quickly as possible. You have to avoid hidden mines with the help of a metal detector. You can also hide mines for the next player. When you reach your destination, simply hand over the headset.
A YouTube video shows some gameplay. Since this game doesn't use the Quest boundary or mesh, you could theoretically play it in very large spaces, writes co-developer Thomas Van Bouwel on X.
You can download Mine Games from the project's official website. Installation requires sideloading. There are currently no plans to bring the game to App Lab.
Mine Games is a game jam prototype
Mine Games was created during this year's Nordic Game Jam by David Filipe, João Antunes, Sahlia Wong and Thomas Van Bouwel.
Van Bouwel is known for his VR/AR game Cubism and is currently working on the mixed reality game Laser Dance, which will be released for Meta Quest later this year.
