Meta Quest: Fight for better mental health in Zengence
Breathe deeply in battle: Zengence combines breathing exercises with hard-hitting action for a thrilling mix.
DeepWell Digital Therapeutics released its first game, Zengence, on the Meta Quest Store a few days ago. This is a VR action video game designed to improve mental health. The game is available for Meta Quest 3 and Quest 2.
In Zengence, players use controlled breathing and the resulting exhalation into the microphone as a source of energy. This can be used to reveal enemies, dodge attacks, and recharge weapons. Zengence combines breathing training with shooter mechanics to train and build resilience in stressful situations.
In addition to the game's 30 levels, Zengence encourages players to practice and master the levels with daily challenges and leaderboards. This allows players to consistently manage stress. Techniques can also be learned and practiced in the Zen Garden. A separate learning area within the game that uses a mix of movement, breathing, and sound to maximize stimulation of the vagus nerve.
A wide variety of VR shooters
Swarm 2 is another VR arcade shooter for Meta Quest, also coming to PC VR on July 18, 2024. You play as Marv, the last survivor of the Grapple Commando. Marv fights the swarm with a pistol and grappling hook, while maneuvering through the game environment with a grappling hook system. With each mission, you become stronger and uncover more of the story.
Zengence and Swarm 2 showcase the diversity of the VR shooter genre, from therapeutic applications to fast-paced arcade action games. Both titles leverage the power of VR to create innovative gaming experiences that go beyond what is possible on traditional platforms.
