Meta Quest: A long-awaited sequel dominates the VR gaming charts
The Meta Horizon Store has changed its bestseller lists. Instead of pure download numbers, the sales of the games are now used as a ranking criterion.
The Meta Quest Store has revised its bestseller lists. According to Meta, the ranking is now based on sales of VR games instead of pure download numbers. This change allows for a fairer representation between paid games and free-to-play titles.
Currently, The Thrill of the Fight 2 tops the Meta sales charts for Quest 3, Quest 3S, Quest 2, and Quest Pro, followed by Beat Saber and the free-to-play hit Gorilla Tag. Blade & Sorcery: Nomad and Bonelab follow in the next spots.
Meta Quest Charts: Strong early access titles and a wide variety of genres
The strong presence of early access titles in the Top 50 is particularly striking. Games like Thrill of the Fight 2 and I Am Cat rank high despite their unfinished status, while Meta's big VR blockbuster Batman: Arkham Shadows barely makes it into the top ten.
The current top 50 (see link at the end of the article) shows a wide range of VR genres. In addition to action games and shooters such as Metro Awakening and Arizona Sunshine 2, sports simulations such as GOLF+ and NFL Pro Er are also strongly represented. Social VR platforms such as VRChat and Rec Room are also in the top ranks.
- Note: Many of the VR games in the rankings are up to 40 percent cheaper in the current Meta Quest Sale.
