How chill is this? Now you can use Quest while lying down
The latest Quest v63 system update gives you the option to lie down while using apps and games.
Lie down and play games
Meta just shared details about the latest operating system update for Quest 2 and Quest Pro headsets. One of the most interesting new features is a mode that lets you use apps while lying down.
To enjoy this exciting new way to relax, you need to enable it in settings. Open the settings app, select Experimental, then flip the switch labeled Use apps while lying down.
Your Quest VR headset must have the latest v63 update which is rolling out now.
Afterward, you can lay back, then press and hold the Oculus button to center your view so it appears above you.
Not for Quest 3?
Meta didn't mention the Quest 3 when describing this feature. There's no reason given for this.
Some VR games, such as the dedicated lie-down app Pillow and the Wordle-like Wordomi already worked while lying back. The v63 Quest update extends compatibility to many more games and apps.
Of course, some apps won’t make sense to use from a prone position. Fitness apps that expect you to swing your arms freely won’t work well, and you might find the couch or bed too restrictive for action-filled shooters.
Still, this a great addition to the capabilities of Meta’s VR headsets that will make watching movies, browsing, and casual gaming much more accessible when you feel like relaxing.
The Meta Quest v63 update also includes a new payment method called Quest Cash, which should make game gifting easier.
