Behind The Frame VR sends you into a creative world on PSVR 2
Behind The Frame is a VR game that pays homage to art. Starting in September, you can get creative and experience the enchanting story of artist Amber.
Publisher Akupara Games announces that the atmospheric paint and click adventure game Behind The Frame: The Finest Scenery will soon be available in virtual reality. The creative VR game combines classic adventure puzzles with emotional storytelling and lets you paint your own VR artwork. So if you're looking for a VR experience away from action and simulation, Behind The Frame VR could be just what you're looking for.
More than just drawing in VR
Until now, if you wanted to indulge your artistic side in virtual reality, you could only do so in painting simulations like Vermilion or Gesture VR for Quest 2, which focused on realism and painting itself. Behind The Frame: The Finest Scenery VR adds a narrative framework to your paintings.
Players take on the role of Amber, an aspiring artist who revisits her past while working on her masterpiece.
In addition to the creative painting process, the game also offers various puzzles that must be solved to complete the painting. Along the way, you'll be immersed in Amber's fantasy world of memories and emotions. Away from the narrative, you can let your creative juices flow by painting, sketching, and touching up your own works of art.
Behind The Frame: VR conversion coming in September
Behind The Frame: The Finest Scenery was originally released as a “regular” PC game in August 2021 and was developed by Silver Lining Studio. The nearly 4,000 user reviews on Steam are extremely positive. Publisher Akupara Games plans to release the VR version on September 14, 2023, simultaneously for Playstation VR 2, Meta Quest 2, and SteamVR for PC VR headsets.
