The ScanLabCT VR app simulates a hospital radiology department and teaches the safe use of a CT scanner in a completely virtual environment. The application provides a fully functional CT scanner and a digital patient in virtual reality. Prospective radiologists can use it to improve their skills at any time and without using real equipment. In addition, training can be conducted in a radiation-free environment.
Patch 1.12 brings various changes, bug fixes and two new maps to the VR shooter Firewall Ultra, released exclusively for Playstation VR 2: "Lab" is an evacuated research facility in Northern Europe and "Stronghold" is a remote military installation flanked by forest fires. Both maps are free to all players and work in both PvP and PvE game modes. Also included are adjustments to the accuracy of one-handed weapons, improvements, and updates to AI behavior in PvE, as well as general bug fixes and optimizations. Virtual Reality startup Vantari VR has raised $7 million in a pre-Series A funding round. The company has developed a VR medical training platform for doctors and students to practice high-risk procedures in a safe virtual environment. Vantari is currently used in several Australian teaching hospitals. In 2021, Epic Games awarded the startup a $131,000 grant to use its commercial game engine.
Walkabout Mini Golf VR has released its 23rd course, a collaboration with artist collective Meow Wolf. The DLC costs the usual $3.99, is available for all VR headsets and introduces new game mechanics and creatures. Each of the 18 holes features a new gameplay experiment. There are twelve unique creatures named after Meow Wolf and 57 types of plants or mushrooms, all meticulously designed and placed by hand. Walkabout Mini Golf: Meow Wolf is the most complex, experimental and colorful Walkabout Mini Golf course yet.
Update: Perp Games has to postpone the release of Vertigo 2 on PSVR 2 for "a few days" due to a bug. The exact date will be announced as soon as possible.
Perp Games and Zulubo Productions have announced the digital release date for Vertigo 2. The single-player VR adventure game will be available on Playstation VR 2 from 12th December 2023, with physical copies hitting retail stores on 9th February. Vertigo 2 places players deep underground in Quantum Reactor VII, where they face alien flora, fauna, and deadly android security forces. The game boasts a diverse range of environments, numerous creatures, robots, and intense boss fights.
Resident Evil Village VR won the award for Best VR/AR Game at The Game Awards, beating out Gran Turismo 7, Horizon Call of the Mountain, Humanity and Synapse. Capcom introduced the VR mode for Resident Evil Village on PSVR 2 as a free update earlier this year. This victory precedes Capcom's release of the VR mode for Resident Evil 4 Remake, which will be released today.
