Hitman World of Assassination VR: New trailer shows dual-wielding on Playstation VR 2
IO Interactive just dropped a new gameplay trailer for Hitman World of Assassination in VR, and it looks like Agent 47 is getting some fancy new tricks for Playstation VR 2.
During this year's first VR Games Showcase, IO Interactive revealed fresh gameplay footage showing Agent 47 in action. The trailer highlights some classic Hitman shenanigans — like laying down banana peels as traps — while infiltrating a racetrack headquarters.
The most interesting feature might be the shown dual-wielding system. Players can open a ring menu with their right hand to access their inventory while holding items in their left. In one scene, our favorite assassin gets creative by simultaneously taking out two guards, pelting one with a baseball while the other gets a Coke can to the head.
Hitman is coming to PSVR 2 this month
The VR version brings several notable improvements to the Hitman formula. Players will experience all missions in first-person, with immersive hand movements for everything from lockpicking to operating generators. The arsenal includes over 100 weapons to choose from.
Key features of the VR version include:
- True dual-wielding with intuitive movements for reloading and aiming
- The classic disguise system, now reimagined for VR
- Full room-scale support for freedom of movement
- Enhanced shooting mechanics using the PSVR 2's adaptive triggers
The trailer suggests this could be the most immersive way yet to step into Agent 47's polished shoes. Whether that means more creative assassinations or just more ways to accidentally drop your gun remains to be seen.
IO Interactive is launching Hitman World of Assassination for Playstation VR 2 on March 27, 2025. Current owners of the PS5 version can grab the VR upgrade for $9.99. New players can get started with Hitman Part One and VR support for $39.99.
