Insomniac's VR Games return to Meta Store after mysterious disappearance

Good news for VR fans: Insomniac's missing VR games are coming back to the Meta Store.
Several of Insomniac Games' PC VR titles have reappeared in the Meta Store after vanishing without explanation. The studio announced on X (formerly Twitter) that Edge of Nowhere, Stormland, and Feral Rites are now available again, with The Unspoken set to follow soon.

A certification issue?
The disappearance first caught public attention when journalist Dominic Tarason highlighted the missing games on X. When he reached out to Meta's customer service, they redirected him to Insomniac for answers. According to Tarason, the games had been absent from the store "for some time."
The likely culprit? Meta's annual certification process. Developers must complete a "data use checkup" to maintain access to Meta's platform features. When studios miss this deadline, Meta pulls their apps until they complete the certification.
This isn't the first time Insomniac's VR games have vanished. Back in 2022, both Stormland and The Unspoken disappeared briefly, presumably for the same certification issues. Since Sony's acquisition of the studio and its focus on AAA PlayStation 5 titles, Insomniac seems to have deprioritized both VR development and Meta's certification requirements.
Insomniac isn't alone in facing store removal issues. Developer Toast Interactive recently saw their VR titles Max Mustard and Richie's Plank Experience pulled from the Horizon Store without warning. The studio expressed feeling "betrayed and powerless" on social media, promising to explain the situation soon.
