Playstation VR 2 gets a permanent price cut
Sony will permanently lower the price of the Playstation VR 2 to $400 from March 1, 2025.
Playstation VR 2 is about to get cheaper. The VR system will soon cost $400, regardless of whether you buy the VR headset alone or in a bundle with Sony's exclusive VR title Horizon Call of the Mountain. The latter is of course an even better deal.
Previously, the device cost $550 or $600 in a bundle with Horizon Call of the Mountain. During the holiday season, the VR system was on sale for $350 thanks to a holiday promotion.
The new price will be valid from March 1, 2025 and comes just a few days after the VR system's second birthday.
Should you buy a Playstation VR 2 or a Meta Quest 3(S)?
At $450, Playstation VR 2 is now priced between Meta Quest 3S ($300 for 128GB storage, $400 for 256GB storage) and Meta Quest 3 ($500).

Playstation VR 2 is still getting a stream of high-quality games like Metro Awakening, Skydance's Behemoth, Alien: Rogue Incursion and Arken Age. The first three look much better on Playstation VR 2, while the last is not available for Meta Quest. Future PSVR 2 highlights include Aces of Thunder, Dreams of Another, Hitman World of Assassination and The Midnight Walk.
Sony has also introduced hand tracking for Playstation VR 2, but at the moment only one game supports it.
