FACTS

Doom3Quest, the unofficial Meta Quest port of the 2004 first-person shooter Doom 3, is now available as a first prototype for Pico Neo 3 and Pico 4.

The Pico version of the VR port is based on the latest Patreon release (version 1.3.8), which means it offers the latest features, optimizations, and content for the game. It also includes full DLC support, which expands the game experience with additional levels, enemies, weapons and more, Team Beef writes on Patreon.

If you play Doom 3 with the recommended settings, the game should run smoothly. One issue the team is still working on is a slight delay in head tracking. The team is waiting to hear back from Pico and should be able to fix the problem then.

Pico 4 Ultra is not officially supported. Team Beef writes:

"As for compatibility, our primary focus is on making the port work well on the Pico Neo 3 and Pico 4 headsets. We do not own Pico 4 Ultras and we do not plan on purchasing one. While the game does run in the emulator, we are almost certain that attempting to play it directly on the headset will result in issues."

Doom3Quest for Pico is currently only available to Mid Tier Patrons (or higher). Access to VR ports under development costs $6.5.

Installation instructions can be found in the relevant Patreon post. As always, you will need the original game (not the BFG Edition) to play the VR port.
