Splashtop brings AR support to industrial safety data glasses
Splashtop has added support for RealWear glasses to its augmented reality platform, letting workers in hazardous environments get hands-free remote guidance. The integration helps field teams in industries like oil and gas, manufacturing, utilities and construction collaborate with remote experts more safely and efficiently. When workers wear RealWear glasses on site, remote specialists can see what they see and provide live guidance through annotations and voice communication, almost as if they were standing side by side. The company says this approach to remote maintenance could help reduce both repair costs and safety incidents in industrial settings by up to 70 percent.
