Mixed reality hit gets first DLC: Infinite Inside's The Lost Depths announced
A mysterious artifact and a lost civilization: Infinite Insides DLC "The Lost Depths" takes you to Atlantis.
Developer Maze Theory has announced the first DLC for the mixed reality game Infinite Inside. According to the developer, "The Lost Depths" will focus on the influence of the mysterious Plinth on ancient mythology.
At the heart of the expansion is a new Plinth that appears in your room and sends you on a journey to recover an important artifact. You must deliver it to the lost civilization of Atlantis.
Don't miss out: in the MIXED Advent Calendar, you can win VR games or VR accessories every day.
Another new feature is the Challenge Room. In this timed challenge mode, you have to solve a puzzle before the room closes. This is the only way to gain the trust of the Plinth to deliver the artifact.
The Challenge Room can be revisited later with other keys from the game to set new high scores and compete in the global leaderboard.
The Lost Depths will be released for Meta Quest 3(S), PICO 4 (Ultra), Playstation VR 2 and PC-VR via Steam. A specific release date has not yet been announced.
Maze Theory's first foray into mixed reality is a hit
Infinite Inside is the first home-grown game from British studio Maze Theory, which has made a name for itself with VR adaptations of well-known brands such as Doctor Who: The Edge of Time and Peaky Blinders: The King's Ransom. It is also the studio's first game to take advantage of the mixed reality capabilities of modern VR headsets.
The basic game begins with a columnar monolith growing out of the floor of your living room. Players must find puzzle pieces and assemble geometric shapes to delve deeper into the mysterious story.
The game cleverly switches between mixed reality and virtual reality - but only on Meta Quest and Pico 4 headsets. The versions for Playstation VR2 and Steam VR have to make do without mixed reality components.
