What to expect in Grokit
Grokit is a mixed reality party game for Meta Quest that offers a variety of short, fast mini-games. A special feature is the complete control via hand tracking without controllers. At the beginning of each mini-game, a displayed card explains the required gestures, which according to the developers at 3lb Games are intuitively understandable.
Up to four people can participate in a game at the same time. Through the deterministic multiplayer physics, all players perceive the same interactions as if they were in the same room. For example, if an object falls on a table, everyone sees and hears it. Grokit uses the mixed reality mode of the Quest headsets. You can play the game either via passthrough in your own room or in virtual environments. The Quest's room tracking recognizes furniture and walls and incorporates them into the game mechanics.
According to 3lb Games, Grokit is well suited for VR newcomers, as it is easy to understand and playable in short sessions. Various customization options for avatars, hats, watches as well as selectable environments and music round out the offering.
3lb Games has released several updates for Grokit. The current summer update "Twilight Echoes" expands the game with additional mini-games, customization options and features, including a Vault of Stars theme and an improved microbot companion with voice output.
