You can now play Halo: Combat Evolved with a VR headset
The classic shooter Halo Combat Evolved is now playable in VR thanks to a VR mod, provided you own the original game.
A developer called LivingFray has adapted Halo: Combat Evolved for virtual reality.
The full VR conversion mod is based on the 2003 PC port, so you must own that version to play. The 2019 Master Chief Collection is not supported.
The VR mod is comprehensive and supports a fully synced stereoscopic view, spatial weapon and grenade targeting, a working picture-in-picture scope for appropriate weapons, two-handed aiming mode, rebindable controls with a left-handed preset available, motion-based melee attacks, flashlight activation and crouching, a floating UI and crosshair, and more.
A full list of features can be found on Github, where you can download the VR mod. There you will also find installation instructions and a list of minor bugs and issues you may encounter while playing.
