Hollywood star Elijah Wood becomes a VR villain in Batman: Arkham Shadow
Elijah Wood will be seen as the villain in Meta's exclusive VR blockbuster Batman: Arkham Shadow.
Camouflaj, the development studio behind the upcoming VR game Batman: Arkham Shadow, has announced a celebrity cast for the role of Scarecrow: Elijah Wood will lend his voice and movements to the infamous Batman villain.
In a video message to fans, Wood expressed his excitement about joining the project. The actor, who rose to fame as Frodo in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, describes himself as a huge Batman fan. For Wood, this was his first experience with motion-capture technology, which he says he particularly enjoyed.

Batman: Arkham Shadow will be released on October 22nd exclusively for Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S. The VR game will cost $50. Anyone who buys a new Quest 3S or Quest 3 with 512 GB of memory during the promotional period until April 2025 will receive the VR game for free.
Arkham series ventures into virtual reality
Batman: Arkham Shadow is the first game in the popular Arkham series to be developed entirely for virtual reality. Set between Arkham Origins and Arkham Asylum, the game will let you play as a younger Batman.
Camouflaj, who previously developed Iron Man VR, promises an innovative combat system that combines elements from various VR titles. Classic Batman activities such as detective work and stealth moments will also be included.

In addition to Elijah Wood as the Scarecrow, other well-known voice actors have been confirmed for Batman: Arkham Shadow. Roger Craig Smith returns as the voice of Batman. Troy Baker as Harvey Dent and Tara Strong as Dr. Harleen Quinzel are also part of the cast.
In an interview with MIXED during Gamescom, the development team emphasized that Batman: Arkham Shadow will take full advantage of the technical capabilities of Meta Quest 3. Players can look forward to elaborate graphical effects and an immersive sound experience that captures the dark atmosphere of Gotham.
