Official "Starship Troopers" VR game for Quest and PSVR 2 announced
The coop shooter Starship Troopers: Continuum puts you in the role of a PsyCommander as you lead your troops against the Arachnids.
Sony Pictures Virtual Reality and XR Games have announced the co-op shooter Starship Troopers: Continuum for Meta Quest and Playstation VR 2. The game will be released on October 17 for Meta Quest and October 31 for Playstation VR 2 and is the first VR game set in the Starship Troopers universe.
As PsyCommander, you command and train your troopers to fight the Arachnids. You have over 20 weapons and 40 perks at your disposal, which you can use to create troopers with individual characteristics. Keep your Troopers alive and level them up to unlock bonuses that make them even more powerful.
Starship Troopers: Continuum is designed for up to three players to co-operate, but can also be played solo.
Starship Troopers: Continuum takes place 25 years after the Battle of Klendathu, the subject of the 1997 film. Since then, there has been a breakthrough in psychic research called the Continuum. This technology creates a psychic interface through which soldiers, called PsyCommanders, can control other people, much like Cyrano in the film.
Starship Troopers: Continuum is being developed by British studio XR Games, which recently released a messy port of Hitman 3.
