The Oktoberfest will get an official VR game on Meta Quest
The official Oktoberfest game will soon invite you to a VR version of the Oktoberfest. All you need is a Meta Quest.
The studio responsible, K5 Factory, describes the free-to-play game as follows:
"Be part of our community and get access to the most entertaining and immersive virtual funfair ever built. Inspired by the largest and most popular fun fair in the world, Munich Oktoberfest - The Official Game invites you to a unique social VR game featuring top attractions known from the original Oktoberfest."
You will be able to create an avatar with Bavarian accessories, stroll around the virtual Oktoberfest grounds, and meet and get to know other players. Attractions include traditional and modern rides, as well as various mini-games in which you can compete against others. A closed beta teaser gives you a taste of the experience.
Stylistically, the game is reminiscent of Meta's metaverse platform Horizon Worlds, which is about to launch in many more countries soon.
A closed beta was launched in mid-August, and you can sign up for it on the official Discord server. Meta Quest 3, 2 and Pro are supported.
There is no official start date yet, but it could coincide with the real Oktoberfest, which starts on September 21.
