Meta Quest 3: Dragon Fist's mixed reality mode lets you fight Bruce Lee in your living room
The Meta Quest game Dragon Fist: VR Kung Fu received a mixed reality mode.
Dragon Fist: VR Kung Fu is no longer limited to VR. An update has just been released that introduces a mixed reality mode.
"Whether you're in your living room or at a local park, game elements seamlessly integrate into your space, allowing for a dynamic and engaging play experience," writes the studio Ben Olding Games, which promises unique battles depending on the environment you're playing in. Game objects appear in your room, so you have to maneuver around them and your adversaries to win.
A YouTube video (see below) shows the mixed reality mode in action.
At the same time, a number of new single-player modes and challenges have been released that are optimized for mixed reality and feature enhanced interactions, the studio writes.
Dragon Fist is inspired by Kung Fu movies
Dragon Fist: VR Kung Fu was released on the Horizon Store in February 2024.
The game is inspired by classic Kung Fu films and offers a campaign with multiple levels, unlockable characters, different game modes and training areas. Those who prefer to play online can try out several multiplayer modes (PVP, co-op) for up to eight players.
Dragon Fist offers over 40 different characters. From an old wise master and a young gifted female kung fu student, to a Shaolin monk and a Bruce Lee inspired fighter, to a samurai or ninja, each character has their fighting style as well as a perk and a weakness.
As far as I know, there aren't many other melee fighting games that support mixed reality. I can only think of The Thrill of the Fight. Do you know of any other such titles? Let us know in the comments section.
