HTC Vive slashes developer fees to inspire new Viveport games

VR game developers can keep 90% of revenue on new titles thanks to a new initiative from HTC Vive.

”FACTS”

At the Global Developers Conference (GDC 2024), HTC Vive will cut its revenue share to just 10% for all new VR games and apps added to the Viveport app store starting April 1, 2024. That’s one-third the previous developer fees.

Any titles added on or after March 1, 2024 will also qualify for a fee reduction. That means developers of recent PC VR and Vive XR Elite standalone games and apps will get to keep 90% of sales revenue.

Viveport is HTC’s VR app store. It includes apps you can run on your Windows PC and apps for the Vive XR Elite headset.

HTC Vive is always innovating in VR. The Viveport app store also hosts the popular PC VR game subscription service Viveport Infinity, providing access to over a thousand titles for as low as $9 per month.
