New Atlantic course for Walkabout Mini Golf lets you golf underwater
The popular Walkabout Mini Golf dives deep this time. Fittingly, players now have to dig deeper into their pockets.
Walkabout Mini Golf is an extremely comfortable meeting place in virtual reality. Despite the lovingly designed courses, the sport sometimes becomes a minor matter because the relaxed social implementation with avatars of friends encourages rampant discussions. Some even see a concept for an early Metaverse platform in the VR game.
Soon, fans will once again get a new environment for social play on virtual greens. On Thursday, January 26, 2023, the new DLC course Atlantis will be released. Besides the quaint atmosphere of the legendary sunken city ruins, the content also brings less good news.

Starting with the Atlantis DLC, individual courses now cost $3.99 instead of $2.99. The team wanted to make the increasingly challenging courses as spectacular as possible, according to the indie studio Mighty Coconut.
An estimated 50-80% of all life on earth is found under the ocean surface and the oceans contain 99% of the living space on the planet. Less than 10% of that space has been explored by humans.

The price increase does not apply to previous DLC packs. Licensed courses such as those for the legendary adventure Myst or Jim Henson's movie Labyrinth are therefore still available for $2.99. This also includes the DLC 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. In the first part of the planned Jules Verne trilogy, gamers already went into the deep blue.
What VR recreationists can expect underwater this time is not yet known in detail. The studio is mysterious again and posts short impressions from the new environment. A large whale can already be seen swimming leisurely through corals, sunken domes, and past a large theater.

Walkabout Mini Golf is available for Quest ($14.99) and PC-VR (Steam: $12.49), as well as Pico 4 (in supported markets). The latter version does not yet have any of the DLC courses.
