Quest Games Optimizer keeps getting better with new update
A new update for Quest Games Optimizer makes it possible to install individual apps on any user profile on the same device.
The Quest Games Optimizer has received a number of improvements in update 12.2.0.
The ability to install QGO on additional user profiles, introduced a few weeks ago, has moved out of experimental status and should no longer cause problems. I tried it on my second Meta Quest 3 and the installation worked fine this time. The feature allows QGO to be installed on user profiles that do not belong to the device owner and only works for the same device.
With update 12.1.0, QGO introduced the ability to transfer all apps from the device owner's profile to additional profiles without having to enable Meta's App Sharing feature. The apps will then be available on the additional profile and ready to use without having to install them individually. The feature also works with apps installed on the device via sideloading. With App Sharing, only apps from the Horizon Store can be shared with additional profiles.
With update 12.2.0, it is now also possible to transfer individual apps instead of all apps to a profile of your choice.
Switching between user profiles is now possible with QGO, saving you a little time if you already have the QGO interface in front of you. Just click on the power options and select the profile you want to switch to.
Update 12.2.0 also brings a number of other improvements, which you can read about as always in the official changelog.
What is the Quest Games Optimizer?
QGO's main feature is to automatically configure your games and apps so that they take full advantage of the hardware and look better or run smoother. Quest 3 and 3S benefit the most from this tool.
QGO comes with it a dedicated app launcher that lets you select and customize performance profiles for almost any Quest app. The tool currently offers tested profiles for hundreds of games and apps. You can also choose to customize the existing profiles or create entirely new ones. This is effortless thanks to an intuitive UI.
