CONTEXT

Quest Touch Pro controllers are self tracking

Each controller has three integrated tracking cameras and a chipset that processes the camera data. This means that the controllers can track themselves without being in sight of the headset, such as behind your back or under a table. One downside of the Touch Pro controllers is that it can take a little longer for the tracking system to initialize.

With the Touch Pro controllers, Meta introduced TruTouch Haptics, a more realistic haptic experience made possible by the use of three haptic motors. The same technology was later incorporated into the Quest 3's Touch Plus controller, so it is no longer a unique selling point of the Touch Pro controllers.

Because the Meta Quest Pro was a flop and there aren't many Touch Pro controllers in use, developers rarely take full advantage of its strengths. For the same reason, don't expect any major software improvements or updates from Meta. With the exception of self tracking, the benefits are limited.
