One of the best mixed reality games is finally available as a full version on Meta Quest
After a successful Early Access period, the innovative racing game Track Craft has now been officially released for Meta Quest — with new tracks, cars and features.
The mixed reality racing game Track Craft from developer Brainz Gamify has been launched in the Meta Horizon Store for Meta Quest 3, Quest 2 and Quest Pro after several months of Early Access. The game is now available for $19.99.
Early Access players will automatically receive a free upgrade to the full version. Due to the many changes in the game, the previous high scores have been reset to give everyone a fair start.
The full version of Track Craft includes a host of new content and features, including
- Two brand new track packs: 'Toy Junkyard' and 'Sleeping Dragon Delivery Service' with a total of 104 pre-built levels.
- Six new unlockable cars
- New multiplayer editor to create tracks with other players
- Collect cars in the garage and customize cars with skins by completing track quests
Despite the release of the full version, the studio is still asking for feedback from the community to find possible bugs and improve the game. Track Craft brings toy cars to mixed reality
Developed by the Czech studio Brainz Gamify, the game entered Early Access in the Meta Quest App Lab at the end of 2023. In Track Craft, you control a small vehicle on a virtual racetrack that runs through your real environment. The goal is to master obstacles, loops, half-pipes and tight corners. An extensive track editor also allows you to create your own tracks.
Before the official launch, Track Craft received the "Immersive Update", which brought a number of improvements like switching between mixed and virtual reality at any time, driving from the cockpit and third-person perspective, and a multiplayer mode for up to six players.
One of the best mixed reality games for Quest 3
I already tested Track Craft at the end of November last year and I still think it is perhaps the most fun XR app for Meta Quest 3. My conclusion:
Czech indie studio Brainz Gamify has achieved a small stroke of genius with its debut work. With Track Craft for Meta Quest 3, the developers impressively demonstrate how to use simple means to awaken the play instinct in adults, make them completely forget about time, and at the same time demonstrate the immense potential of mixed reality in a simple way.
