Meta Quest 3S: Do we already know the final design of the VR headset?
A new image has surfaced on X that is said to show the final design of Meta's upcoming Quest 3S VR headset.
VR enthusiast Luna has once again posted a picture of the upcoming Meta Quest 3S on the social media platform X. This time, it is said to be the final design of the VR headset. Anyone who has followed the previous leaks about Meta's budget headset will recognize little that is new.
The image shows the front cameras, a side tracking camera, the volume controls and the probably new "action button". The design is consistent with the concept images that have emerged so far and a photo of the Quest 3S that was recently posted by an accessories retailer.

Quest 3S: Action button for more convenience?
Luna recently posted that the new button on the bottom of the Quest 3S is "a kind of action button". In some OS versions, it is used to switch to pass-through mode; in others, users are still prompted to double-tap the headset. In the future, the button could be freely configurable, says Luna.
Luna also reported that Quest 3S, like Pico 4, will only support the audio connection via USB-C and will come without a jack connection. This was not visible on the leaked promotional material, which now seems to be confirmed. A freely configurable action button similar to the iPhone 15 Pro and Max would be a major gain in convenience compared to Quest 2.
The lack of a jack connection is likely to be a cost-saving measure, with the disadvantage that it will not be possible to charge Quest 3S and use headphones via USB-C at the same time.
Quest 3 for the small purse
Luna had already leaked extensive specifications for the Quest 3S in May, promising an excellent price-performance ratio. Meta Quest 3S is a budget headset that should follow in the footsteps of the Quest 2 in terms of price.
According to Luna's information from developers, it has the significantly more powerful chipset of the Quest 3, color passthrough, the same ringless controllers and feature parity in the software. There are compromises in the display and lenses, which should be the same as those of the Quest 2.
