Hit VR studio Resolution Games promises "big game announcements"
Resolution Games has a few big surprises in store for December 15, including a brand-new VR game.
Resolution Games is responsible for VR games like Demeo (review), Blaston (review), Cook-Out: A Sandwich Tale, and most recently Ultimechs (review), designed for multiplayer experiences, taking advantage of the medium's strengths.
The studio has secured $38.5 million from investors since its founding and employs more than 150 people (as of July 2022). Last year, Resolution Games quadrupled its sales with VR games.
On December 15, the first "Resolution Games Showcase" will take place. During the online event, founder and CEO Tommy Palm and other studio employees will announce at least one new VR game, major updates to existing titles, and more surprises for VR and AR fans.
Demeo: New adventure introduces barbarian class
The studio has already announced that the fifth Demeo adventure, titled Reign of Madness, releases on December 15.
The group of heroes explores the evil-haunted village of Ends, where they meet new enemies and NPCs with their own stories. Reign of Madness also introduces a new hero class: the barbarian Uhrak, who fights with a grappling hook. Reign of Madness, like the previous four adventure updates, will be free.

Demeo is available for Quest headsets and PC VR. For Pico 4, the VR game releases in early 2023. Demeo is also a launch title for Playstation VR 2, which launches on February 22, 2023.
Resolution Games promises a whole new kind of game
Reign of Madness won't be Resolution Games' only Christmas gift to fans. On December 15, VR gamers have the chance to get their hands on a wholly new title that is supposedly unlike anything so far from Resolution Games.
What kind of game it is and to what extent fans can try it out is still unknown. It's quite possible that Resolution Games unveils the title and announces a beta test with a limited number of participants.
The event starts at 1 p.m. Eastern / 10 a.m. Pacific and can be followed live via Youtube or Facebook.
