Bootstrap Island fügt eine neue VR-Survival-Challenge mit 19 Aufgaben und Belohnungen hinzu, die Sie im Hauptspiel nicht finden

Bootstrap Island's latest PC VR update introduces Cargo Master, a new mode that asks shipwrecked players to gather and deliver supplies while racing for a place on a global leaderboard. Developer MaruVR says the mode has 19 tasks, with the Golden Seashell awarded for completing them all.

The update is available for the Steam version now. A PlayStation VR2 release is expected to follow, according to UploadVR; the developer's PC announcement does not give a PS VR2 date.

Cargo Master changes the shape of the island's usual survival challenge. Instead of simply trying to stay alive, players work through increasingly demanding cargo requests and earn supplies, equipment and unusual rewards for delivering what is asked for.

Complete deliveries to unlock unusual equipment

MaruVR's update announcement describes rewards including Boots of Jumping, an Infinite Flintlock Pistol and an Infinite Bow. The boots allow much larger leaps without fall damage, while the weapons remove the need to collect their respective ammunition.

Those items do not turn the entire game into a relaxed island trip. The developer says the challenges and the island's dangers grow as players move through the mode. The normal demands of finding resources and surviving remain relevant while deciding how to complete a delivery.

After all 19 tasks, completing the mode records a time for the leaderboard. Faster completion gives a higher placement, making it possible to compare a run with other players without describing the mode as a simultaneous multiplayer race.

The PC announcement calls these rewards mystical items. UploadVR reports that the special equipment is not found in the main game, so players returning for Cargo Master have a reason to try the separate mode even if they know the island already.

The update reaches PC VR first

Bootstrap Island is a first-person VR survival game set on a tropical island. Players deal with wildlife, the environment and other threats while finding ways to make use of the resources around them.

Cargo Master is presented as an update to the existing PC game, not a standalone purchase. The developer also lists a separate paid cosmetic DLC bundle, which is not required to understand the new mode.

PS VR2 players should watch for the console update rather than assume their version has the mode on the same day as Steam. MaruVR's announcement is the best place to check the full PC patch notes and changes beyond the headline mode.
