Time-travelling VR adventure Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate delayed until fall
The upcoming VR game Wanderer: Fragments of Fate has a lot of potential, but still needs some polishing.
Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate was supposed to be released on June 27th for Quest 2, Quest 3 and Pro, Playstation VR 2 and PC VR headsets.
Studio Mighty Eyes has now announced a delay to September 12, 2024. The studio writes on X:
"We knew Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate was an incredibly ambitious project when we set out on this journey. Not only have we rebuilt the game from the ground up on Unreal Engine 5 using our new next gen VRAF systems, we've also added a ton of new and exciting features.
We want you to play the best, most polished version of the game, one that meets our vision and quality expectations. This means we need to spend a few extra months in development and we've made the difficult decision to move our launch to 12th September 2024.
We're sorry Time Travelers - we need more time. ✨⌛ pic.twitter.com/EUYjNsv2e8

We haven't taken this decision lightly and we know this news will be disappointing. We are confident this delay will ensure we can deliver the best gaming experience, one that's worth the wait.
In the meantime, keep your eyes peeled over the next few weeks for some exclusive new gameplay footage and an epic new feature that will have you banging on for days."
VR time travel with beautiful graphics
In Wanderer: Fragments of Fate, you travel from one era to the next with the help of a magical watch to steer humanity's destiny in the right direction at crucial historical moments. You find yourself in the bodies of contemporaries and take on different identities, similar to the 90's TV series "Quantum Leap".
The original Wanderer game was released in early 2022 for Playstation VR and PC VR headsets and received little attention. With the remaster, which takes the VR game to a new level in terms of graphics and gameplay, the title is getting a second chance.
With the "VRAF systems", Mighty Eyes is referring to a self-developed UE5 framework for next-gen VR games, which is being used for the first time in Wanderer: Fragments of Fate. It includes avatar, locomotion, combat and physics systems.
