FACTS

Mighty Coconut has announced that Walkabout Mini Golf: Pocket Edition will be released worldwide for iOS on October 10. The mobile version of the popular VR mini golf game is fully cross-playable with all VR versions and also features two new exclusive control modes: Touch-to-Putt and Grip-to-Putt.

While with Touch-to-Putt you simply control the game via the smartphone display, Grip-to-Putt uses the iPhone's acceleration sensors for a motion-based putt that is designed to resemble a real putt.

Almost all DLC courses are available at the launch of Pocket Edition, including licensed courses. Walkabout Mini Golf: Pocket Edition will be available for over 20 iPhone models from the iPhone XS upwards at a price of $4.99. The basic game not only includes 16 courses (8 each in easy and difficult mode), but also almost 150 collectable lost balls and various game modes. These include race and simultaneous modes.

The additional DLC courses cost $1.99 each (except Upside Town) and will be released at the same time as the VR versions. Avatars such as the collaborations with the Jim Henson Company franchises Fraggle Rock and The Dark Crystal will also be available for €1.99 each.

CONTEXT

Walkabout Mini Golf is constantly being developed further

Walkabout Mini Golf is one of the most popular VR games and has continued to evolve since its original release in autumn 2020. Not only does it have over 11,000 user reviews on Meta Quest, but it also has an almost perfect five-star rating. This makes it one of the best multiplayer games for the VR headset.

Mighty Coconut regularly adds new content and DLC courses to the game, often in collaboration with renowned artists and animation studios. Highlights include a course based on the cult British duo Wallace and Gromit and a tribute to the classic adventure game Myst. Furthermore, popular is the Evil Lairs series, which takes you into the headquarters of villains.

With the Pocket Edition, Mighty Coconut wants to invite players without a VR headset into the world of Walkabout Mini Golf. Thanks to cross-play support, you can play with friends and family across platforms, whether on PC, Meta Quest, Playstation VR 2, Pico 4 or, in the future, iPhone.

A new DLC course, Mars Gardens, has recently been released. This takes you mini-golfing in a futuristic bio-dome on the red planet. This will also be added to the iOS version in the autumn.
