VR superhero simulator Project Demigod is launching in February
Project Demigod, a VR game that turns you into a superhero, will be released in February after a successful early access period.
Omnifarious Studios and Fast Travel Games have announced that their superhero simulator VR game, Project Demigod, will officially launch on February 1, 2024. The game will be available on Meta Quest 3, Quest 2, Quest Pro and PC VR via SteamVR and will cost $19.99. The full version will include new features and improvements.
The game allows players to become their own superhero and engage in physics-based battles. The Hero Event System will send you to the streets, where you fight waves of enemies in specific locations. When fighting enemies, players can choose from ten power options, and over 40 possible combinations. You can throw big objects into your opponents or fry them with energy bolts.
The full version of Project Demigod will include mod support, featuring a variety of user-made avatars and improvements to the game's overall performance. The developers will be adding more content in the near future, like the arrival of new enemy types.
From App Lab to Meta Quest Store
Fast Travel Games, the publisher behind Project Demigod, is also known for VR hits like Vampire: The Masquerade — Justice, Apex Construct, The Curious Tale of the Stolen Pets, and Wraith: The Oblivion – Afterlife. Project Demigod had its beginnings in App Lab, a platform for developers to share their projects with the VR community. It has since been very successful, with over 100,000 copies sold on App Lab and Steam during the Early Access phase.
The transition from App Lab to the full Meta Quest store is a significant step for the game, which will be temporarily unavailable for purchase from January 25 to February 1. Players who have already purchased the Early Access version will not have to pay again for the full version.
