What awaits you in Retronika
Retronika drops you onto a hostile alien planet after a wormhole incident goes wrong. Armed with just your hoverbike and a faithful robot companion, you'll need to complete missions to earn cash and find your way back home through this neon-drenched cyberpunk world.
The VR game features a 50-mission campaign that tests both your racing and combat skills as you navigate timed routes while battling hostile flying robots. The control scheme is surprisingly intuitive — keep both hands on the handlebars to control your altitude, or maintain a steady height with one hand while using the other to shoot. It's a clever balance of mobility and firepower.
Building your perfect ride
What really keeps you coming back is the satisfying progression system. Your workshop serves as a hub for upgrading both your hoverbike and arsenal. These aren't just cosmetic changes either — each upgrade meaningfully impacts gameplay. Your bike becomes noticeably faster and more responsive, while weapon improvements pack an increasingly deadly punch. The game adds tactical depth by letting you dual-wield different weapons or park your bike to unleash a two-handed barrage.
While the campaign forms the core experience, Retronika offers two additional modes to extend playtime. Action enthusiasts can test their skills in endless mode, while creative players can design custom routes in freestyle mode. The cel-shaded visuals shine across diverse city districts and weather conditions, keeping the environment fresh as you progress.
The game demands real coordination skills — mastering simultaneous driving and shooting takes practice. Missions alternate between pure racing challenges and combat-heavy sequences. But it's the basic act of riding that makes Retronika special: gliding through dense air traffic with the soundtrack pumping in your ears creates a uniquely immersive VR experience.
