Maestro: Conducting Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones in VR
The VR music game Maestro is getting a new DLC called the Doombound Pack, letting players conduct famous melodies from "The Lord of the Rings" and "Game of Thrones." Following December's Harry Potter DLC, players can now lead orchestras through Howard Shore's "The Bridge of Khazad-dûm" and Ramin Djawadi's "Game of Thrones Main Theme."
The pack also includes works by Franz Liszt, Jacques Offenbach, and Dmitri Shostakovich, alongside a new infernal opera environment, themed costumes, gloves, and a special conductor's baton. Conducting the iconic Lord of the Rings composition with a virtual orchestra creates such a moving experience that it might bring fans to tears.
The Doombound Pack is available for $9.99 in the Horizon Store.
Crystal Commanders: Strategic Warfare Comes to Meta Quest
Crystal Commanders brings classic real-time strategy to VR and MR, transforming your living space into a battlefield. The game features a 15-mission, fully voiced story campaign where each mission dynamically adapts to your room, ensuring no two playthroughs are identical.
Beyond the campaign, players can engage in 1v1 multiplayer matches both locally in mixed reality and online in VR. A Creative Mode lets strategists experiment with base configurations without combat pressure. All modes can be played in virtual environments, and the gameplay strongly echoes classics like Command & Conquer, with core RTS elements reimagined for VR.
Crystal Commanders is available for 20 euros in the Horizon Store and supports Meta Quest 3, Quest 3S, Quest 2 and Pro.
Harpagun: Action-Packed Adventure from Former Superhot VR Developers
Former Superhot VR developers have launched Harpagun across all major VR platforms. This rail shooter places you on a distant planet battling waves of hostile creatures. As a space salvager, you're equipped with a gravity blaster that transforms your mechanical arms into either firearms or magnetic beams.
The weapon system lets you fling enemies through the air, deflect incoming fire, or demolish the environment. Movement follows a rail system, with players using a joystick to hop between magnetic points. While the game features a clean, pastel-colored comic aesthetic, it stands distinct from the time-bending mechanics of Superhot VR, despite sharing some development talent.
The VR shooter is now available for $19.99 on the Meta Horizon Store, PlayStation VR2, and Steam.
Twenty Guys: Mixed Reality Gets Weird
Resolution Games, known for Demeo and Spatial Ops, pushes experimental boundaries with Twenty Guys, an MR sandbox that lets you wreak havoc with an army of tiny followers. The game starts when twenty miniature men leap from a cardboard box, following you around like loyal minions.
Players can toss the gnomes around their space, create wooden obstacles, make them float, or playfully interact with them using baseball bats and hammers. The violence remains cartoonish and lighthearted. The characters' faces were created by the studio's developers, with future updates planned to let players photograph and import faces and T-shirt designs mid-game using Meta Quest.
Twenty Guys is free in the Horizon Store for Meta Quest 3, Quest 3S, Quest 2, and Pro.
