Unreal Engine 5 brings stunning effects to VR music platform Soundscape
The "metaverse for music" has been graphically reworked and now looks very impressive thanks to UE 5.
The VR music platform Soundscape has been updated with Unreal Engine 5 and will launch exclusively on SteamVR for PC-VR on January 23rd. The integration of UE 5 has significantly improved the graphical effects.
The latest version also includes new features for creating Soundskin avatars and the latest version 4 of Sonic AI, Soundscape's audiovisual engine, which improves the aesthetics and responsiveness of visual elements. The application will cost around $40.
Immersive music festival for PC-VR
The app simulates an immersive music festival. Using self-created avatars, you can explore a vibrant area full of bright colors and interact with virtual objects and other attendees. You can watch performances by artists such as Deadmau5, Slash, Evanescence, and Goose on multiple screens embedded in the virtual world of Soundscape.
Alternatively, you can listen to music of your choice via an integrated streaming service while exploring the immersive worlds. An AI engine on the platform recognizes the melodies and rhythms in the music and triggers visual responses in the environment.
From 3D audio visualizer to music metaverse
Soundscape was founded in Colorado in 2017, and has been constantly evolving ever since. Originally conceived as a 3D audio visualization app, the application has increasingly become a social platform. The "Soundscape Universe" update introduced public and private spaces, larger gathering places, and virtual clubs for the first time.
In 2022, Soundscape released a custom VR experience that included a concert by Slash feat. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators in a virtual festival environment.
