Ultraleap is reportedly halving its workforce and tries to sell the hand-tracking division
British tech company Ultraleap plans to halve its workforce and sell its hand tracking division. The company informed staff of the job cuts due to shifting priorities at tech giants such as Meta and Snap, and evolving customer needs and behaviors. Its haptics division will become a new company owned by existing shareholders. The haptics division also plans to raise additional funding. Ultraleap was formed in 2019 when Ultrahaptics acquired Leap Motion and has raised significant funding in recent years from investors including Tencent, Mayfair Equity Partners, and IP Group.
One of the scariest VR horror games is also coming to Meta Quest
Publisher Perp Games announced on X that the VR horror game Madison VR will also be released for Meta Quest headsets. There is no release date or other details yet. Madison VR focuses on atmospheric horror and is considered one of the most terrifying VR games ever made. The game eschews combat and focuses on creating a sense of helplessness. Meta confirms work on GTA: San Andreas VR, then backtracks
In the comments section of a YouTube video (see below) about the new body motion upgrade for Racket Club, Meta Support confirmed that the company is still working on the VR game GTA: San Andreas VR, which has disappeared without a trace. One user asked Meta directly if there was a release date for the long-awaited game, or if it had been canceled. The official Meta account responded: "Hey There! Indeed we don't have a release date yet, but we're working on it!" — The comment has since been deleted. Such supposed "confirmations" from Meta Support have also occurred in the past. So we advise you: As long as there is no official release statement for San Andreas VR, you should keep your expectations in check.
