FACTS

Meta adds new AI capabilities to Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses. As announced during Meta Connect, the smart glasses will facilitate conversations with the integrated Meta AI, allowing users to ask follow-up questions after the first question with "Hey Meta" without having to repeat the voice command. They will also no longer need to say "Look and" to ask questions about what they are looking at.

The glasses will also be able to remember things captured by the camera. As an example, Meta showed how the Smart Glasses remember the parking lot of a user at the airport based on a photo. Voice reminders will also be possible. Based on the text the user is looking at, the glasses can perform actions such as calling a phone number on a flyer or scanning a QR code.

Real-time translation, Meta AI support in other countries & limited edition

In the near future, the headsets will also be able to translate speech in real time. If someone speaks Spanish, French or Italian, users will hear the translation in English through the headset's speakers. Meta plans to add support for other languages in the future. The Meta AI in Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses will soon be available in other countries. The countries will be announced later this year.

Meta is also launching a special limited edition Ray-Ban Wayfarer glasses with a clear frame to show off the technology inside. Each pair of smart glasses will come with a new black charging case. In addition, the new UltraTransitions lenses from EssilorLuxottica will be available for the Ray-Ban Meta collection, which quickly adapt to all light conditions.

New Partnerships and Integrations

Meta is also entering into partnerships. In collaboration with the "Be My Eyes" app, visually impaired people will be supported by a network of sighted volunteers who can describe the user's field of vision via a video call and help with everyday tasks.

Integrations with Spotify and Amazon Music will be expanded, and new partnerships with Audible and iHeart will be added. In the future, users will be able to search for and play songs, artists, albums, or audiobooks by voice.
