CONTEXT

Built from the ground up for VR

A free demo of Metal: Hellsinger VR has recently been released on Steam. It includes the first two levels and four weapons, and is designed to give you a taste of the gameplay in VR. Metal: Hellsinger VR can be played full-body or seated.

You take on the role of a demon and wield an arsenal of unique weapons in VR, including twin pistols, a crossbow, a talking skull and a devilish sword. Your goal is to defeat hordes of enemies to the beat of metal music and retrieve the stolen voice of the Judge of the Eight Hells. The award-winning original soundtrack features contributions from metal legends Serj Tankian (System of a Down), Matt Heafy (Trivium) and Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy).

The VR version of Metal: Hellsinger is not a simple port of the original game, but has been built from the ground up for virtual reality. Lab42 Games, which became part of Sumo Digital in 2020, is responsible for the VR conversion. Stockholm-based studio The Outsiders is responsible for the original game, which has sold more than three million copies since 2022.
