Metal: Hellsinger is getting a VR version this year, trailer here
The rhythm shooter Metal: Hellsinger is coming to all major VR platforms in 2024.
The award-winning game, which has sold well over three million copies since its release in 2022, will make its way to VR headsets in 2024, offering an even more immersive gaming experience.
"Metal: Hellsinger’ in VR is a match made in heaven, or should I say hell," Funcom CMO Erling Ellingsen said. "Even when we were working on the original, we fantasized about how thrilling it would be to play in VR and many fans have been saying the same. Now that fantasy is coming true and there is no doubt: slaying demons to the rhythm of epic metal tracks, all in full-motion immersive VR, is just as incredible as we imagined it."
Metal: Hellsinger VR will be released later this year for Meta Quest 2, 3 and Pro, Playstation VR 2 and SteamVR.
Rebuilt for VR
Metal: Hellsinger VR has been completely rebuilt for VR in collaboration with Lab42 Games. It includes the full campaign and lets you take on the hordes of Hell in the role of the half-demon The Unknown. Unlike the original, the two pistols can be used independently, reloading is manual, and the sword can be swung freely to the beat. The VR version can be played physically or seated.
The original soundtrack, which includes tracks from musicians such as Serj Tankian (System of a Down), Matt Heafy (Trivium), Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy), Randy Blythe (Lamb of God) and more, remains unchanged.
Lab42 Games does not have a VR experience as far as I know. Let's hope the game delivers what the trailer promises.
