The February sale has started and will last until February 23, 2025.

According to Meta, the sale includes hundreds of titles discounted by up to 50 percent, but my list shows even higher discounts in some cases.

We've picked out three indie gems that are well worth the money - especially if you like fairytales and puzzles.

A Fisherman’s Tale 2

In the sequel to the VR classic, players once again take on the role of Bob, a fisherman puppet. The game introduces innovative mechanics that allow players to detach and control Bob's limbs and head to solve puzzles. For example, players can remove Bob's hands to remotely manipulate objects or replace them with different tools to overcome obstacles. This unique gameplay emphasizes creative problem solving and offers a new perspective on VR interaction.

The story unfolds through a series of fantastical locations, each brought to life with vibrant visuals and immersive sound design. As players progress, they delve deeper into a poetic and compelling story that explores themes of self-discovery and the bond between Bob and his daughter, Nina.

A Fisherman's Tale 2 (formerly Another Fisherman's Tale) can be purchased from the Horizon Store.

Maskmaker

Maskmaker was developed by the same studio. Players take on the role of an apprentice mask maker, learning the craft of creating magical masks. These masks are more than just decorative; they serve as portals to different realms, allowing the player to explore a variety of mysterious and beautifully crafted landscapes.

As the journey unfolds, players will discover the secrets of the Mask Realm and its enigmatic ruler, Prospero. Each mask grants access to new areas and abilities, encouraging exploration and experimentation. The process of creating masks is highly interactive, requiring players to gather rare materials, shape intricate designs, and paint them with care. This hands-on approach reinforces a sense of craftsmanship and connection to the game world.

The game's environments are richly detailed, each showcasing unique cultures and aesthetics. From lush forests to frozen landscapes, each setting is carefully crafted to provide a sense of wonder and discovery. Puzzles are seamlessly integrated into the world, taking full advantage of VR's capabilities to create a tactile and engaging experience.

The Last Clockwinder

In this immersive experience, players take on the role of Jules, a young woman tasked with restoring an ancient clock tower nestled in a colossal tree.

Equipped with special gloves, Jules can record her actions to create clockwork automatons that replicate those movements in a continuous loop. These automatons become essential tools for growing crops, harvesting resources, and repairing the tower's intricate mechanisms. Gameplay involves solving complex puzzles by designing and coordinating these mechanical clones to perform tasks in harmony.

As players delve deeper into the mysteries of the tower, they uncover a narrative that intertwines Jules' personal history with the legacy of the previous Clockwinder, Edea. The Last Clockwinder offers a unique blend of automation mechanics and storytelling to create an immersive VR experience that challenges both the mind and the senses.
