One of the best diorama VR games is getting a sequel

With its fairytale charm, Down The Rabbit Hole found its way into the hearts of many VR gamers. The spiritual successor will be released this fall.

FACTS

This fall, Escaping Wonderland will take you deeper down the rabbit hole with a new heroine and a host of new, wondrous characters from Lewis Carroll's iconic novel.

Cortopia Studio describes the sequel as follows:

"Using the unique diorama perspective established in Down the Rabbit Hole, Escaping Wonderland will feature gameplay that focuses on exploration through a world filled with whimsy and wonder, brain-teasers that will make you mad as a hatter, and a silly sense of fun that will leave players grinning ear-to-ear like a Cheshire cat as they encounter characters from the children's literary classic Alice in Wonderland."

The VR game will debut on Meta Quest in the fall of 2024. You can already add it to your wishlist in the Quest Store or pre-order it with a 10% discount.

The first trailer (see below) doesn't give much away, but that will change over the coming months.

CONTEXT

Enchanting diorama worlds

Down the Rabbit Hole was released in 2020 and received high praise from Ben, who reviewed the VR game on the original Oculus Quest.

"All in all, Down the Rabbit Hole is a must-have title for VR fans and also ideal for VR beginners. The game shows how a fantastic world can be brought to life with relatively little effort and how much potential there is in the diorama genre," wrote Ben.

The VR game was a huge success for Cortopia and publisher Beyond Frames, reportedly earning four times the cost of development.

In addition to Escaping Wonderland, Cortopia Studios has two other unannounced titles in development: a sequel to one of the best-selling VR titles of all time and a project based on a major IP. We can't wait to see what else this talented studio has in store for us.
