The next Meta Connect will be held on September 17-18, 2025

Meta just announced Meta Connect 2025 and a brand-new AI developer conference.
Meta's AI innovations have been showcased at Meta Connect for several years. Now Meta has decided to have a separate conference dedicated to its AI products. It is called Llamacon and will be held on April 29, 2025.
Meta also announced Meta Connect 2025, which will take place on September 17-18, 2025 and is aimed at "virtual and mixed reality developers, content creators, metaverse mavens, and AI glasses enthusiasts."
"As in years past, we’ll share the latest and greatest in Meta Horizon updates, peel back the curtain on tomorrow’s tech, and give XR devs the tools they need to help build for the next computing platform today," Meta writes in the Quest blog.
Meta Connect 2025: What's coming?
Meta announced both conferences at the same time, probably to avoid the false narrative that Meta is abandoning its Metaverse project in favor of AI.
We do not expect any new VR hardware to be announced in 2025. On the hardware side, Meta will focus on AI and AR glasses. According to a leaked memo, Meta will launch "half a dozen more AI-powered wearables" in 2025.
These will likely include Oakley AI glasses, a pair of high-end HUD glasses with a small contextual display, and a neural wristband to control the HUD glasses. Meta will also likely provide an update on the Orion AR glasses. This is all according to a Bloomberg report from January.
